Split Rock
**Split Rock: A great rock with cool problems included several area classics, watch out its a high boulder and fairly hard to get off of. Their are a few other boulders with problems nearby.

Approach: I have seen people park right next to the boulder, but you are in the State park. I have always takes the 5 minute walk in. Its flat and easy.
Ambiance: * It is a rad boulder in the woods, but it is on the edge of a campground.
Parking: Their is plenty of parking along the last paved road and limited parking on the outside of the gate.
Kids/Dogs: You are in the heart of Bliss State Park dogs need to be on leash and you will have to keep an eye on the little kids as you are next to the road.
Shade: Partial.
Rock Type: Granite-Quality
Notes: In a campground. Tallish and a bit tricky to get off of.

Directions: Split Rock is in Donner Memorial State Park which has a few fee parking areas and it there area few spots right by the boulders though they may be gated off by the park rangers. Free parking: Instead of heading into the park from just West of where Donner Pass Road jumps I-80 Their is a 4-way stop. Head south on Cold Springs Road (not signed) it used to be their was a gate here and you could get locked it, but as I write this it appears someone has cut it off. The safest bet is too park outside the gate and hoof it down the road until the pavement ends then take a right down a well worn trail that parallels a low fence all the way to the boulder.
