Wooden Cobra/Tin Can Boulder
Wooden Cobra (Tin Can Boulder) ** Cool Boulder with several fun problems on it.
Approach: 5 minute flat approach through thick woods.
Ambiance: **** Forest right next to a little creek.
Parking: A pull out with 4 spots that is used to access the crags and as a staging area for several other areas.
Kids/Dogs: Not a lot of climbing for the little guys, but the creek will probably make up for it. Their are a lot of old rusty cans but its a pretty good spot for kids and dogs.
Shade: Ample.
Rock Type: Granite-Quality
Notes: The downclimb is a little tricky.
Directions: From Truckee at the four way stop at the intersection of Cold Stream Road and Lincoln Highway head between the gas station to the end of the pavement, veer left on a dirt road and follow it around the construction area to a Y and continue straight on the old pavement and follow this road and as you skirt the right side of a pond and reach a Y with a wooden sign that points To Cold Stream Road veer right up hill. Follow this road for 1.4 miles until it hits the Railroad track and parallels it then ducks under the track through a tunnel that the creek runs through. Follow the road right along the tracks and a phone line then heads west for 1.2 miles until you reach a pullout for 4 cars on the left at a bend in the road. Park here.

1. **V0 Nice tall problem up the
left facing corner and jugs to crux
near the top.
2. **V2 Start on a good left hand crimp and a bad right at the overhang and head up the crack features to a cool dish and top out.
3. *V0 Low start on the good bucket and move out left to a jug rail then left again to a slopey topout.
4. *V0/1 Start just right of the bucket and head up a jugs along seam to a slopey topout
5. ****V4 Groovenator Start on the good diagonal edge and head up that side pulls to a good crimp then out right and up.
6. ***V6? Cuticle Killer SDS on a seem and head up and slightly left to the top.
7. ***V7? Tin Can Alley SDS and bump up flake then head left up the seam.
7a. ****V9? Bomb Threat SDS head up the right arete.
8. ***V7? Sneaky Fox Cobra ?
9. *V2? ?
10. *V2? Snakeskin ?
11. **V0R? Stem up the groove behind the tree, watch you back.
