Long's Boulders
Long's Boulders*: Just on the edge of Truckee is a small cluster of boulders.

Approach: 5 minutes of flat ground.
Ambiance: * Next to a large boulder and small pond in the forest. Right along side the railroad tracks. You will pass a hobo camp or two on the way in.
Parking: Park in the shopping center by the tire shop.
Kids/Dogs: The proximity of the railroad tracks is problematic as is the hobo camp if your dog is a known poop eater like mine.
Shade: Partial

Directions: Park at the tire shop in Truckee next to Bill's Rotisserie at the intersection of Deerfield Drive and 89. Then walk southwesterly until you hit the dirt road that parallels the train tracks. Head west, the boulders are along the road. The first big cluster on the right is the Mirage Boulder, North of that by the lake is the Bum Camp Boulder and 180' further down the from Mirage in the trees on the right is the Eye of Rah boulder. The Long's Block is another 450' down the road on the left.
then ducks under the track through a tunnel that the creek runs through. Follow the road right along the tracks and a phone line then heads west for 1.2 miles until you reach a pullout for 4 cars on the left at a bend in the road. Park here.

6. V3? Their is a short dirty crack on the boulder on the back side of the block.
